Except where a different penalty is specifically provided by ordinance or adopted state statute, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of the city of Lacey shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and a person convicted of a gross misdemeanor shall be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 or by imprisonment for not more than one year or by both such fine and imprisonment. A person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of Lacey is committed, continued, or permitted and such person shall be punished accordingly. Nothing in this section shall be construed to repeal or otherwise affect mandatory minimum sentences set for violation of specific ordinance or adopted state statutes.
